Prevent child drownings
In Georgia’s hot summer months few things are as refreshing as a cool dip in the pool. However, it's critical to keep safety in mind whenever you're near water, especially when children are involved. Drowning is the second leading cause of injury-related deaths (after car crashes) for children younger than 14 years, and it is the number one cause for kids ages 1 to 4. For more information about preventing childhood drowning and for contact information, click here.

Unintentional injuries are the number one killer of children in Georgia, and many of them are preventable. Learn more about the Division of Public Health’s Injury Prevention Program online at http://health.state.ga.us/programs/injuryprevention.
